Mutual Mission of Christians

When it comes to serving, the Bible in the New Testament gives us at least 20 ways to put it in practice –

  1. at peace with one another (Mk. 9:50)
  2. to love one another (Jn. 13:34)
  3. to outdo one another in showing honor (Rom. 12:10)
  4. to live in harmony with one another (Rom. 12:16)
  5. to welcome one another (Rom. 15:7) to instruct one another (Rom. 15:14)
  6. to comfort one another (2 Cor. 13:11)
  7. to agree with one another (2 Cor. 13:11)
  8. to bear with one another (tolerate – Eph. 4:2, Col. 3:13)
  9. to be kind to one another (Eph. 4:32)
  10. to forgive one another (Eph. 4:32)
  11. to submit to one another (Eph. 5:21)
  12. to teach and admonish one another (Col. 3:16)
  13. to encourage one another (1 Thess. 4:18)
  14. to seek to do good to one another (1 Thess. 5:15)
  15. to exhort one another (Heb. 3:13)
  16. to stir up one another to love and good works (Heb. 10:24)
  17. to confess sins to one another (Jam. 5:16)
  18. to pray for one another (Jam. 5:16)
  19. to show hospitality to one another (1 Pet. 4:9)
  20. to have humility toward one another (1 Pet. 5:5).

Please remember, it is not about just serving other Christians outside the family which is relatively easier to do but also those who are believers in the family.

These are not suggestions or optional. These are not dependent on the behavior of the other Christian. These are expected of every Christian. Pray that God may help you in living them as you imitate Christ!
